26 Sep 2012 - Sophos announced today that Sophos Mobile Control is fully compatible with the new iOS 6 from Apple. With this update, customers can now manage their iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices running the latest version of iOS.

Sophos support for iOS 6 includes:

• Hide Passbook on locked devices
• Disable shared photo streams
• Disable the sync of last used e-mail addresses with iCloud
• Manage the lifetime of profiles on mobile devices
• Route all traffic through a global HTTP proxy

This last feature uniquely positions Sophos to offer secure web browsing and web filtering for iOS 6 devices via the Sophos Secure Web Appliance. With this solution, Sophos is meeting the demand for protection against inappropriate content, which is particularly vital in the education sector.

Sophos will release this new offering for Complete Mobile Security on iOS, covering Mobile Device Management, Mobile Encryption, Mobile E-Mail Management and Mobile Web Security shortly.
