Find out why Conficker caused havoc for businesses and learn how to avoid it from happening again

IT security and control firm Sophos today announced that Mark Harris, global director of SophosLabs™, will take a closer look at Conficker, one of the most troubling worms of the year. The webcast is scheduled for Thursday, June 25 at 9:00am ET.

Microsoft quickly issued a patch while security vendors provided protection against the worm that exploited the vulnerability, yet the worm spread like wildfire, infecting millions of computers. This webcast will explore why it happened and how businesses can prevent it from happening again.

Mark Harris is director of SophosLabs and leads a team of staff based in the UK, the US, Australia, and Canada, providing 24/7 protection against malware, spam and web threats for Sophos customers. He also manages proactive technology development, including Sophos's proactive Behavioral Genotype® Protection technology, which uses forensic analysis to identify suspicious patterns and characteristics unique to either a virus family or a spam campaign.

Harris has more than 20 years' software engineering experience and nearly 12 years' experience in software security, having spent 10 years at McAfee in a variety of roles, including Chief Software Architect and Engineering Director. Harris regularly contributes to the SophosLabs blog, which provides round-the-clock information about newly discovered threats encountered by Sophos's worldwide network of analysts.
