IT Security and Data Protection firm Sophos today announced that its Sophos Email Appliance, the company's managed email security and data protection line of appliances, and Sophos PureMessage have received West Coast Labs’ Checkmark Certification for Email Filtering and both solutions were awarded Premium Checkmark certification for Anti-Spam - achieving a 99% detection rate. Earning the highest Checkmark certification, Sophos’s email gateway solutions were awarded a Premium status, surpassing the certification requirement of 97% for effective spam detection in a test environment replicating everyday email usage by testing on live email feeds. Achieving such accolades by West Coast Labs confirms that Sophos’s email security and control solutions effectively and proactively eliminate known and unknown threats including spam, phishing and malware, and preventing information leakage and compliance violations.
