Sophos Earns "Recommended" Status in Unified Threat Management Product Review.

July 15, 2010 — IT security and data protection firm Sophos today announced that its flagship solution Sophos Endpoint Security and Data Protection – offering protection against viruses, malware, spyware, data leakage, potentially unwanted applications and includes HIPS, firewall, encryption, and network access control from a single agent – has earned five out of five stars in SC Magazine's July 2010 Unified Threat Management Group Test. Sophos earned a perfect score across all categories - features, ease of use, performance, documentation, support, and value for money.

SC Magazine noted that Sophos Endpoint Security and Data Protection offered "a very impressive list of protection technologies" and "all of the features are governed by centralized policy management and easily distributed to client agents". The reviewer was also "very impressed with the inclusion of granular data leakage protection monitoring using content control lists" and how the solution has the ability to "control how data is used when it spots pre-defined strings" – including credit card numbers, social security numbers, and other sensitive information.

The reviewer was also impressed with Sophos Endpoint Security and Data Protection as it supports various client operating systems – Windows, Mac, Linux and Unix - and the help files within the console are very comprehensive.

Sophos Endpoint Security and Data Protection offers a single integrated solution for both anti-malware and data protection. A single agent delivers anti-virus and anti-spyware protection, client firewall, data loss prevention (DLP) content monitoring, management of removable storage devices and detects and blocks unauthorized software. Combined with integrated network access control (NAC) and encryption to ensure policy compliance and secure your data, it gives you the best preventive endpoint and data protection, saving time, money and resources. A single license protects all users and computers across Windows, Mac, Linux, UNIX and other non-Windows platforms.
